No. Most visitors use the cable car. Hiking should be chosen because you want the experience, not because it is expected.
Is the mass-suicide story certain?
Josephus is the main written source. Archaeology confirms the siege and occupation but not every detail of his final account.
Can we include Ein Gedi?
Often, yes, depending on trail access, heat and the group's pace.
Is floating in the Dead Sea safe?
